On her website Jill Greenberg talks about the series 'End Times' saying that nothing is more pure than the anguish of a child. Pictures of children crying capture raw emotion: sputtering rage and profoun loss. The honesty of a child's feelings is undeniable and it draws you in to the photograph. Perhaps because kids experience the kind of powerful emotions that we, as adults, have suppressed in ourselves.
Greenberg also talks about the first shoot of a little boy named Liam, suddenly becoming hysterically upset, saying it reminded her of the helplessness and anger she felt about the current political and social situation and her outrage at the false reasons for going to war in Iraq and the scandalous way in which the conflict was sold to the American people.
